What an outlet offer actually means

Outlet in a brick store does not mean a used set. It is a copy that sat on display, came back as a customer return, or has a creased or torn box. The contents are complete and new, and the lower price covers the packaging alone.

For most builders that is irrelevant, since the box gets recycled anyway. It matters to collectors who keep sets in their original boxes, and for gifts, where the packaging is part of the experience.

Why we show only some outlet offers

An outlet offer is not automatically a bargain. We checked it against our own data on 26 July 2026: of the 116 sets that had both an outlet offer and a new-copy offer, 46 had an outlet price HIGHER than the cheapest new copy of the same set elsewhere. So this page lists only offers at least 3% below the cheapest full-price alternative, and the discount is measured against that alternative rather than the catalog price. The catalog price of older sets is closer to collector value and would produce invented discounts.

At the bottom of that range the saving is modest: a few percent on a 200 zloty set is a few zloty. Every card shows the percentage against the new copy, so you can judge whether the intact box is worth the difference.

What to watch out for

Read the offer description, because stores define outlet differently. Some describe the box only, others allow missing shrink wrap or opened bags. If full originality matters to you, buy a new copy.

Check the gap against the new copy, which we show on every card. At a few percent it rarely pays to give up an intact box; at twenty percent and above the saving becomes real.

Outlet copies are usually one-offs, so they disappear faster than a regular promotion. If you are hunting a specific set, set a price alert and we will tell you when the full-price copy drops.
